Healthy Eating

Back to Online Courses

This program is aimed at helping you to understand diabetes and the healthy eating recommendations for diabetes management. While these resources have been developed for people with diabetes, this information is also important for people who have been identified as having pre-diabetes and who are looking for extra information.

The Healthy Eating program will cover

  • healthy eating recommendations for the whole population,
  • the impact of carbohydrate foods on blood glucose levels,
  • understanding food labels,
  • how to find healthy foods in the supermarket.

This program provides general recommendations only. For individual advice on the dietary management of diabetes, it is important to seek expert advice from an Accredited Practicing Dietitian. This program will take about 20 minutes to complete and consists of videos and a quiz at the end of the program.

The National Diabetes Services Scheme is an initiative of the Australian Government administered by Diabetes Australia.
