Our mission is to educate, advocate, support and fund research to provide better outcomes for people living with diabetes.
Our vision is to empower people to live well with diabetes and raise awareness for those at risk of diabetes in South Australia.
Diabetes is one's of Australia's most serious and costly chronic health conditions.
And South Australia has the highest incidence of diabetes in the country.
That’s why we’re here – leading a state-wide effort to tackle the fastest-growing health threat of our time.
Our work covers all types of diabetes: type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes, as well as programs for people at risk.
As soon as you’re diagnosed, we’re here with immediate help for you and your family.
Face-to-face personal consultation with our dietitians and diabetes educators. Professional management advice online and over the phone. Assistance with monitoring your glucose levels. Help to understand the various medical complications that can arise from having diabetes.
We have the products you need, generously discounted. We also provide free library resources, self-management programs, guest speaker and group events.
Thanks to the generosity of our caring community of members and supporters, we help fund diabetes education programs, awareness campaigns and research initiatives.
Perhaps most of all, we offer everyone living with or at risk of diabetes a place you can visit for caring, expert, heart-felt advice and support.
You may be new to diabetes. But at Diabetes SA, we have been working at the frontline of diabetes management and support for nearly 70 years.
We are committed to reducing the impact of diabetes in our community, contributing to the search for a cure and helping all people affected by diabetes to live a healthy life.
