World Diabetes Day Seminar 2019

Diabetes SA held a seminar with a focus on innovation and emerging trends in managing diabetes. All people with diabetes and their families or support person were invited to learn more about current and emerging practices in diabetes management and what the future looks like. Two concurrent seminars run with a focus on type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes seminar

Dr Anthony Zimmermann – Endocrinologist

Dr Zimmermann presented “An overview on type 1 diabetes management: Where we have come from, where we are now, and where are we going.”

Rachel Martin – Clinical Psychologist

Rachel Martin presented on “Emotional health in type 1 – dealing with diabetes distress and linking with day to day management.”

Type 2 diabetes seminar

Dr Jessicca Stranks and Dr Anjana Radhakutty

Dr Stranks and Dr Radhakutty discussed ‘Emerging Trends in the Management of type 2 diabetes’, sharing their expert knowledge and information on the latest research and innovations for living with type 2 diabetes.
