Diabetes SA is pleased to advise we are resuming face-to-face education sessions for people living with diabetes.

We are taking the necessary steps (including a comprehensive COVID-19 Safe Plan) to keep you safe.

All venues will have sufficient space for social distancing, hand washing facilities and hand sanitiser will be available, and all surfaces will be cleaned.

Our sessions have been modified to ensure hygiene guidelines are followed.

We will ask attendees some questions as they arrive at the session, and ask anyone feeling unwell or at risk of carrying COVID-19 not to attend. We will collect all attendees contact details, and ask them to sign a form on arrival.

There are some members of our community who are at higher risk of serious illness should they contract COVID-19.

People who fit into any of the following categories should take extra care to protect themselves from infection (this may mean not attending face to face sessions at the moment):

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 50 years and older with one or more chronic medical conditions, such as diabetes
  • People 65 years and older with chronic medical conditions
  • People 70 years and older
  • People with compromised immune systems.

If you have any questions about your safety when attending one of our sessions, please call us on 1300 198 204 and ask to speak to a Diabetes Educator.
